Geocache Description:

Note: Cache has been replaced with a Mint Tin but still in the same location. You should be able to see it easily with a torch while laying down. Thanks to Team "The Morris for"helping out. As soon as we are able to travel (recovering from a small op) we will try to get back out and revisit the location. If anyone wants to upsize the container that would be cool. Thanks for finding ,fixing and enjoying the cache for so many years.

Mount Charlotte is the final destination for water that is pumped uphill from Mundaring near Perth. (Cache is at 423 meters Altitude.) On your drive up to Kalgoorlie you would have seen the pipeline following the road much of the way. CY O’Conner was the principal engineer associated with its development. It was an enormous engineering feat for the time when the state was still in its infancy. It’s also nice to see he was proved right about its validity both at the time and today. Without water Kalgoorlie would never be able to sustain the development and infrastructure required to mine ore. We found what we think is about the only location up here to place a cache. So be aware that there are tourists everywhere. You don’t need to cross any fences or climb walls but you will need to lie on the ground to retrieve the cache. The cache is on the corner concrete support under the structure. You may not be able to see it but you can feel it. when replacing it dont push it too far back as it may be too hard for the following team to reach it. Place it as the spoiler photo shows and it should be perfect. Sit on the chair nearby and log your visit (it’s more comfortable and you won’t give the location away) Take a couple of photos of the area post them so we can all see how things change. When we were there it looks like they were making landscaping changes to the area of the lookout.... ( Its now a few years later and it is starting to look good. Kalgoorlie is still a boom town) Lyn Pat and Nathan.
