As the name implies, this virtual cache is located in the Vicksburg National Military Park. The listed coordinates will take you to the entrance to the park. There is a $8 fee per vehicle to enter the park. Park hours are currently 8AM - 7PM.
This is one of Mississippi's most beautiful parks...lots of history. Due to NPS regulations regarding physical caches, this cache is a virtual. If you're feeling adventurous be sure to check out the Mint Spring Bayou Falls virtual as well.
In order to receive credit for this cache, you must e-mail me the answers to the 4 questions below. Please do not post the answer in the log...even if encrypted.
In order to find the answers to the four questions, you must drive the entire 16 mile historic tour of the park. Please be sure to take your time and enjoy all that the park has to offer. There are 15 tour stops with lots of historic info and dozens of other areas of interest along the way. If you're into cycling, I highly recommend touring the park on your bike...this is my favorite spot to ride.
(1) Go to N 32° 22.626 W 090° 50.001. Find the TOTAL number listed for both Union and Confederate troops.
(2) Go to N 32° 22.208 W 090° 52.154. Check out the spectacular view of the river. How many canons are located on top of the hill?
(3) Go to N 32° 20.837 W 090° 51.277. Who is on the monument?
(4) Go to N 32° 20.396 W 090° 51.165. Who is on the Monument?
