Geocache Description:

Hidden for the Spring Picnic Event on 5-3-2003 and expected to become a permanent geocache.

Located in the quiet Northwest corner of Belleplain State Forest off of Joe Mason RD. Insects and ticks will be there to witness you finding this cache, so bring the proper repellants.

Kalker's Pond is a secluded pond with lots of wildlife activity and very little human traffic. While walking on the path that surrounds the pond I startled a group of 7 deer that were in the water nearby and it was an amazing sight to see them all stampede to the other side of the pond. You are looking for a regular size plastic ziplock container hidden in a place that will keep it well protected throughout the year with a little bushwhacking at the end. There is no logbook, just a waterproof disposable camera for you to use to prove your visit. If you are alone and have to take a self-portrait and are not sure how to do it, look at the picture below of Frolickin who has mastered the art of the one handed self photo.
