Geocache Description:

Welcome to the only remaining royal hunting grandstand in the world. Built originally for Henry VIII .

This cache is part of a series planted for the cache bash on 5th April 2003.

Built in 1543 for Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge is probably the last remaining royal hunting grandstand in the world.
Elizabeth I may have used the building as she hunted in the forest on a number occasions. A superb example of timber framed architecture standing in the ancient royal forest of Epping among magnificent old oaks.

Displays within the building explain its history.

For more information about the hunting lodge why not visit its Web Site.

In order to claim this find please add a photo to your log of you (face doesn't have to be included, thumbs up style fine!) or your GPS or something with your caching name on with the building also in the photo
