Long Point Bay Cache Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: Hello,

During a routine cache page audit, it was discovered that your cache apparently no longer exists and/or your page has been disabled for an extended period of time. The disable feature is meant to be used only as a temporary measure to alert cachers to a potential problem that will soon be corrected..
As such we will be archiving your cache. If you wish to replace the cache at some point, just email me through my profile linked from this log on the cache page, with the cache name, and waypoint ID and we will review it for possible unarchival for you.

Thanks.

Geocache Description:

Located in Long Point Bay. Yes, I said "in". Obviously a boat is required. The bay in this location is only 6-7 feet deep and the cache is on the bottom at elevation 595 ft to be exact.

The cache was placed in the winter by drilling a hole in the ice and setting it on the bottom. It is a stainless steel thermos attatched to a large lead disc to hold it to the bottom. The best way to find the cache is to drive out until your at the coordinates and anchor a couple of meters upwind of it. You'll probably be able to spot it over the side of the boat or by snorkelling. You can use your standoff pole to pull it up if staying in your boat. The water isn't very deep. If you move while filling out the log please leave an update of the new coordinates when logging your cache find. When placed the cache included a
- Toy truck
- Toy helicopter
- 3 Balls
- 2 Puzzles
There isn't much room so keep your trading items small. I didn't want to report the cache until the ice all left. You're safe now though. Have fun.
