Located in the Black Rock Forest, this is an aerobic hike up from the Mineral Springs Waterfall.
Hopefully, you have already completed the Mineral Springs Cache and are on your way to Jupiter's Boulder Cache. If not, then the following may be of interest: parking for this cache is tricky; one may choose to park where the signs say not to (as many, many cars already do) and take the chance, or one may choose to park on the southern end of where Old Mineral Springs Road and Mineral Springs Road meet, thus adding an additional .74 miles to the hike. I know where I park, and I also know that no trouble has come, yet.
Follow the aqua diamond/white rectangle trail up from the Mineral Springs Waterfall. If the weather is wet, you will most definitely need your GorTex, as fording streams is necessary.
Jupiter's Boulder is a large rock that overlooks much of the area. The scenery is wonderful, especially in the fall and spring.
If you lose GPS reception (which you are likely to do), don't worry; you'll gain it back when you get near the site. Besides, you aren't going to miss this one.
I have hidden this a few steps away from the boulder so as to remain hidden during peak hiking seasons.
