Geocache Description:

This site is right next to the Missouri River in Sioux City, Iowa. There are concrete paths on level ground.

This is one of a string of Lewis and Clark caches along the Iowa and Nebraska borders of the Missouri River. This cache was placed with permission of the land owner.

It is fun to watch the river ripple past and imagine what Lewis and Clark would think about the changes that have been made since their visit to the area. In addition to the Sergeant Floyd River Museum, there is a large play area for children, ramp and marina for boats, visitor's center, and more. The mouth of the Floyd River and the Sergeant Floyd Monument are not far away.

This cache is an ammo can kept inside the museum.  It has a log book, trade items, and room for trackables.  Simply walk into the museum and ask for the cache.  While there, take time to tour the museum!  There is no admission fee and the museum is open daily from 10 am - 4 pm.  Click here for more museum information.  If you find yourself looking for the cache when the museum is closed, you may find and log the secondary micro cache instead.  It is located on the outside of the ship, just to the left side of the main entrance.

Update 9-5-2012:  Original cache owner, The Three Amigos, can no longer care for the cache.  Ownership was transferred to GeoJudt to keep it going for years to come.

Update 3-20-2016:  Due to recent multiple thefts, the cache container was moved inside the museum.  A secondary micro cache was added for after-hours logging of the cache.
