Geocache Description:


This cache is a nice walk in a brand new nature preserve that was just aquired by the county. Your complete trip will be .78 of a mile from the parking area. There is a sign that says it is a nature preserve and foot traffic only, but also one that says No Trespassing. I called to verify that it was OK to park at this location and venture on foot. You can park at N27° 49.286' / W082° 12.796'. The reason the terrain rating is a 3 is because there is no open gate to pass through, and you will have to climb the fence.

The cache is your traditional Rubbermaid/Tupperware type container that measures approximately 18" x 12" x 6" and has a white lid.

The items in the cache are for the little geocachers, but please be careful and watch them closely due to the terrain. When placing the cache I ventured into a very thick area that was covered with palmetto bushes, but found a much easier route for my way out.

When you cross the open field look for a small trail that is about 30' to the left of the cattle fence. Follow this trail, and keep the fence to your RIGHT.

FROM HERE YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!

While placing this cache I saw no wildlife, but the area seems to have many due to the tracks on the ground, and it also looks as though the slithering type flourish here as well. Take your time, and enjoy the meadows views. While at the cache site you may want to venture about 200' further northwest, and view the small creek/stream that flows nearby.
