Geocache Description:

An impressive location in the grounds of a castle once owned by Robert the Bruce!

Red Castle was originally built in the 12th century, and added to in the 14th 0r 15th century. You may see the raven-haired White Lady, who to this day wanders the parapets in search of her lost love.

This has always been an important strategic defence site, and this was echoed during WW2 when anti-tank "pimples" were constructed along the coast.

Park at N56 39.093 W2 30.778 and head up the path. Keep your wits and your footing -this could be a dangerous track.

Make sure you take your binoculars and look down into the shallows. You might see a flash of silver as sea-trout head upstream. Or is it a reflection of the White Lady?
