This is the first cache in Viiala, not a regular one but a
multicache and micro cache.
Tämä on Viialan ensimmäinen geokätkö, ei ihan perinteinen, vaan
multikätkö ja mikrokätkö samaan aikaan.

Tarpianjoki River flows through the town of Viiala and there is a
small rapids called Haihunkoski. The cache is somewhere near the
rapids.
The name of this cache tells you something about the history of
Finland. In 16th century this place was a border between parishes
of Saarioinen and Lempäälä. It was also a border between provinces
of Häme and Satakunta. There has been a bridge at least since
1629, but the old stone bridge that you will see there, was built
around 1887.
The starting coordinates will take you to the Haihunkoski parking
place. Look around and find out in what year there was a big flood.
The final coordinates are N 61.12.X and E 23.46.Y, where X = first
two digits of the year + 457 and Y = last two digits of the year +
578.
The cache is in one of the several, long and narrow islands in the
middle of the river. During low water it's easy to approach, but
during high water, you need to choose an alternative route... but
it's not in very difficult place anyway.
By the way, on the upstream side islands there is a nice place for
eating your sandwiches or what ever and you can even make a fire
and broil sausages - in the middle of Viiala!

Tarpianjoki virtaa Viialan keskustan lävitse ja juuri ennen joen
suistoa sijaitsee Haihunkoski. Kätkö on jossakin kosken
lähellä.
Kätkön nimi kertoo sinulle jotakin Suomen historiasta. 1500-luvulla
tämä paikka sijaitsi Saarioisten ja Lempäälän pitäjien rajalla. Se
oli samalla Hämeen ja Satakunnan maakuntien raja. Paikalla on ollut
silta ainakin jo vuodesta 1629 lähtien, mutta kivisilta jonka näet
paikalla, on rakennettu noin 1887.
Aloituskoordinaatit vievät sinut Haihunkosken parkkipaikalle.
Katsele ympärillesi ja selvitä minä vuonna joki tulvi rankasti.
Lopulliset koordinaatit ovat N 61.12.X ja E 23.46.Y, missä X =
kyseisen vuoden kaksi ensimmäistä lukua + 457 ja Y = kyseisen
vuoden kaksi viimeistä lukua + 578.
Kätkö on piilotettu yhdelle useista pitkistä ja kapeista saarista
joen keskellä. Matalan veden aikaan sitä on helppo lähestyä, mutta
korkean veden aikaan tarvitset vaihtoehtoisen reitin... mutta ei se
silloinkaan kovin vaikea ole.
Muutoin, ylävirran puoleisilla saarilla on mukava paikka eväiden
syöntiin ja voit jopa paistaa siellä makkaraa - keskellä
