The Berzsenyi lookout-tower in the Keszthely Mountains on the top
of Petõ Hill was renovated in 2002. You can get there, to one of
the best vista-points of this area, with a pleasant tour in the
woods on foot, on a bike or even by car. From the tower in clear
weather you can see almost the whole Transdanubia: the
Keszthely-bay, the Zala Hills on west with the transmission towers
in Zalaegerszeg and Nagykanizsa, on north-west the feet of the
Alps. Even the Mecsek Mountains can be seen beyond the waving
Somogy Hills on south, the chains of the mountains from Zengõ to
Tubes and even the tower in Pécs are perceivable as well. The cache
itself is a tupperware with blue lid and hidden near the
lookout-tower at the foot of a tree, covered with leaf-mould and
some bark.
You can start from Vonyarcvashegy on the red trial. From Highway 71
turn north to Cseri street, then Berzsenyi street, which continues
in the woods from the end of the village, and that leads direct to
the destination.
There is another way: the yellow trial which starts near from the
Nagy-mezõ in Gyenesdiás. Turn north in the roundabout at JET petrol
station, then take the first street on the right towards Nagy-mezõ.
There is a short trial which connects Nagy-mezõ and the mine in
Gyenesdás (you can find another cache there), but it's not drivable
by car.
