This Is A Two Part Cache Along The Bill Chipman Trail That Connects Moscow and Pullman. It Is A Companion Cache To The “West Meets East” Cache. They Can Both Be Done On The Same Walk If You Have The Time.
This cache is meant to be walked, biked, or rollerbladed, but can be done by car if you are short on time. Bring a leashed dog or two to add to the caching fun. (Get the dog’s owner’s permission first!)
These coordinates are not for the cache itself, but for an informative sign along the trail. If you are planning to access the locations by car, turn into one of the side roads. There is no reason anyone should park on the highway. Use care when exiting and entering. For walkers and the like, park at the Moscow trailhead. This cache gets a difficulty of 3 because you need to SUBTRACT as well as ADD!
The board has the answers to these questions:
1. What year did the USDA Forest Service begin to plant the white pines orchard on University of Idaho land?
2. How many white pine seeds are required to make a pound?
Do the math to find the location of the cache (ignore the decimal points):
• Add the answer of question #1 to N 46 41.318 to find the cache latitude.
• Subtract the answer of question #2 from W 117 30.303 to find the cache longitude.
Now go find the cache! It’s in a highly visible area so beware of muggles. Remember, they’re more scared of you than you are of them.
