Wir waren heute in Rothenburg und haben festgestellt, dass dort noch keinen Cache versteckt ist. Da muss aber wirklich einer hin: Hier ist er, der erste Rothenburg ob der Tauber-Cache. Um die Mauer zu finden, in der die Film-box versteckt ist müsst Ihr das unten angegebene Spender-Rätsel lösen.
Today we visited Rothenburg ob der Tauber. I was quite sure that there would be a geocache in that famous medieval town - the world famous town at the Romantic Road. I was dissapointed to learn that there was no Cache until end of 2002; Everything changed with 2003, January 1st. We have put a micro-cache somewhere in one of the many walls of Rothenburg; It is very close to some red bricks inserted into a wall of differently colored stones, hidden behind some small stones in a hole in that wall.
Note added May 2003: Since these small stones disappeared you will find the micro-cache about 1meter left and below the red stones. You might have a look on Landmaus spoiler-foto, if you need some fingers that show you the old and the new cache-location.
In order to help you to find the location I give you the following hints to calculate the coordinates of the cache. Since it is only a film-case, bring small trading stuff.
Wie findet Ihr diesen Cache?
An der Referenzkoordinate: 49N 22.269', 10E 10.859' ist die Treppe, die auf die Stadtmauer führt.
Die Aufgabe ist, Daten über 4 Sponsoren zu sammeln, wenn man vom Startpunkt aus in der
Stadtmauer entlang läuft. (Die Mauer ist ja übersäht mit eingelassenen Steinen, die dokumentieren,
dass z.b. Fritz Maier 1 Meter der Mauer bezahlt hat. Wenn ich mal gross und reich bin, werde ich
mir auch ein paar Meter leisten.....
- Der erste Sponsor ist die "Space Frequency Coordination Group" und diesen Stein findet Ihr
etwa 90 Meter vom Eingang entfernt: Die Frage ist, in welchem Jahr die Spende geflossen ist und die
gesuchte Zahl N1 ist dieses Jahr minus 1900. N1 aufschreiben!
- Nach etwa 180Meter kommt ein Spendenstein von Metro Goldwyn Maier, der anlässlich der Filmaufnahmen zu den Grimm-Maerchen gespendet wurde (Kennt irgendjemand diesen Film?); Die gesuchte
Zahl N2 ist wieder dieses Jahr minus 1900
- Die nächste Zahl kann man nach 30 Meter finden: Was ist die zweite Jahreszahl, die bei Hedwig Courths-Maler angegeben ist? N3 = Diese Jahr minus 1900.
- 90 Meter später liest man, wieviele Meter (L) der Mauer durch die ESSO AG bezahlt wurde.
Diese Meterzahl muss quadriert werden, d.h. N4=L*L.
Habt Ihr alle Zahlen von N1 bis N4 bestimmt? Daraus kann die Cache-Koordinate berechnet werden:
Endgültige Breite: = 49N (22.243 + 2*(N2+N3)/1000)'
Endgültige Länge: 10E (10.878 - (N1+N4)/1000)'
(Beispiel: Wenn N3=10 und N2=20 wäre käme man so auf 49N 22.303')
Der Cache befindet sich in einer Mauer.

Seid bitte beim herausnehmen sehr vorsichtig, damit die Mauer nicht beschädigt wird. Bitte schaut Euch das Spoilerfoto an.
How to find the cache?
Go the reference coordinate: 49N 22.269', 10E 10.859'; you find a staircase to the trip around the famous city wall. It is your task to find some data of 4 sponsors, when you walk on the wall.
- The first one is the Space Frequency Coordination Group (about 90 Meter from the entrance): What is the sponsoring year minus 1900? Note that two digit number N1!
- After about 180Meter you find a brick from Metro Goldwyn Maier, when they took a Grimm-Maerchen movie in Rothenburg; Again note the two digit number N2, that is the year minus 1900.
- The next number is found after about 30 Meter: What is the second year given from Hedwig Courths-Maler; N3 = year minus 1900.
- 90 Meter later you learn, how many Meters of the city wall have been sponsored by ESSO AG. Take the square of that length L and note it as N4=L*L.
How to calculate the Cache-coordinates? Add or subtract offsets to the reference coordinates given above!
Final Latitude = 49N (22.243 + 2*(N2+N3)/1000)'
Final Longitude= 10E (10.878 - (N1+N4)/1000)'
(Example: If N3=10, N2=20 you would get 49N 22.303')
