Cache is located within ruins of Ivy Tor Mine where bismuth, copper and arsenic were mined during 1850's.
Close to quick-flowing River Taw that rushes over rocks and tree roots in Belstone Cleave on Dartmoor, featured in Tarka the Otter book. Please be aware and safe if river is swollen.
Standard plastic container containing the usual bits and pieces with a notebook for comments and camera for pictures. Please e-mail when full.
Our second attempt at a cache. Suggested parking at N 50°43.709' W 003°56.111. Local village Sticklepath - very attractive village of stone and cob cottages contains two pubs for refreshments. Devonshire for peace and quiet with good beer and log fire when required. Taw River across road for food. Also in village is Finch Foundry, a 19th-century water-powered forge which is now owned by the National Trust and is open to the public in the summer, with fascinating demonstrations of the machinery at work.
