We where doing a Confluence project search and found this spot.
Well, located it as it was not lost! As of 4-14-04, there is now a
full blown cache can. What a view from this site..
If you try this one, take a camara or two and watch for the Wild
Horses, Pronghorn, and Mule Deer as well as the Golden Eagles,
Redtail Hawks, and well, you get the Idea. Anyway, to get to this
spot, travel east from Lakeview, Oregon onto Hwy 140 until you get
to Nevada. At the line, hang a North to the first right hand road,
follow this road until you get to Nevada twice. The last time, you
will need to get out and walk. We did build a rock cairn to mark
the spot. And hang on to your backside as the road is long and
rough, about 11.5 miles off the gravel, through the mud, over the
Sage and under the Junipers. You will need a high clearance rig,
Plenty of fuel and a lunch. This area is being considered for
wilderness status so stay on the track. Thanks to Chief Paulina who
placed a powder can for us when he was here in April of 2004.
