Hello Friend:
You are searching for my second Manhattan Cache. I
call it Kitsch Cache. It was planned to hold only New
York City or State related tourist stuff. You know,
the kind of stuff you find along 42nd Street and other
tourist destinations around the city. Basically any
item that has some New York related image on it or
somehow is related to New York. There are only one or
two non-NYC related items in the box now.
This is a small cache, 6x4x10 inches, Rubbermaid Box;
so don't bring anything large for the cache. The
cache is in plain view, but is high and is covered in
silver duct tape to blend into its surroundings (hint,
hint, obvious clue)
Directions. Clues only.
On Manhattan Island, you want to take the most
westerly subway line to 125th street. From there, you
will be moving towards the closest body of water.
The cache is located in a supporting structure. If
it is raining you should not need an umbrella for the
last part of the search.
Reaching the cache. Reaching the cache location is
a D1. Very easy, sidewalks all the way. To make
contact with the cache has a difficulty of D3 because
the cache is not located on the ground. BE CAREFUL.
You will need to climb (about 10 to 15 vertical feet
no ladder) to reach it. You do not need ropes but you
do need climbing skills and understanding of climbing
safety.
If you feel you are not able to get to the box,
don't try and reach it. Just be satisfied you found
it. And post the notice on-line.
When you find it, email me at: sewardvanlee@yahoo.com
Geocaching: Find it, take something, leave something,
sign the log. ** Have Fun ** searching for this
cache. If you have time, please think about hiding
your own cache in NYC so that I have something to go
seek.
