The cache is located off East SD Highway 244 approximately 5 miles from Highway 16. I suggest parking at N43*53.867 and W103*31.285.
Why the name Split Rock Frustration?
Several people have made note of the name and want to know why it is frustrating. This cache was not created because it is a frustrating find. It was created because the "Split Rock Cache" just down the road took me three trips to find. Yes! Three times! I created this cache because I wanted to get clues for the Split Rock cache. It did not work, but I did finally find the Split Rock cache.
Change (12/30/04): the cache is now in a green ammo can and has been moved. The cache was moved to a different location to accommodate the size of the ammo can. You should be careful crossing the cattle guard. Also, if it is a little wet, be careful on the rocks -- they are slippery.
Clues: The cache is hidden under a rock slab yet it is on-top of rocks. It is also not far from a make-shift camping area
