Geocache Description:

This is a multi-stage cache in easy terrain. You need the detailed description in order to find it.

At the posted cache waypoint, there was an isolated, tall tree at the time the cache was placed. All that's left of it now is a stump. But the redirect is still easily found. It is a tarnished (i.e. dark) embossed copper tag tied to the wire mesh fence near the bottom, just a few inches to the left of the nearest fencepost.

You will find two numbers stamped into this tag. Replace the lowest-order digits of the North coordinate of the waypoint with the first set of digits, and the lowest-order digits of the West coordinate with the second set of digits. This will give you the coordinates of the second waypoint.

The trouble starts at the second waypoint. When this cache was placed, many years ago, the area was grassy and the obvious object at the waypoint was easily seen. Now it is in dense shrubbery and long pants are definitely necessary to go in there (unless you happen to have a machete).

The obvious object has: A copper tag like the first one, tied to the metal loop at the top. Also a smaller one glued to the west side. And as an extra failsafe backup: If you look west from the obvious object, there is a very large tree about 20m away. A tag is nailed to that tree. Whichever tag you get the coordinates from, proceed to modify the waypoint as before.

You now have the location of the cache. The cache is hidden mostly out of sight, buried by a few pieces of rotten wood in the cavity underneath an old fencepost that has fallen over. The final waypoint is a few metres off because the cache was originally hidden in another spot, but you can't fail to find it since there are only a few candidate fenceposts nearby and the right one is the closest one to the waypoint. The cache is a military ammunition box. Please leave it well hidden and well sealed again.

As at the obvious object, the approach is not as uncluttered as it was in 2001, due to vegetation growth. But you can minimize the difficulty if you consider your approach first. It is definitely not a straight-line approach from the second redirect that you want to do. It is not necessary to cross creeks, swamps or railway tracks between the recreational path and the cache.
