Alien Spawn Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

geowyz: Long and illustrious run, but all things must pass. Thanks to all my friends, known and unknown, who have kept it going over a decade. I was proud of this one and had a heck of a time doing it. I can't remember now why I made the creative decision I did, but I recall this one started out as The Jolly Green Giant's Booger!

Geocache Description:

November 27, 2002 around 7 PM on a clear crisp autumn evening a bright light was visible in the sky near the northern horizon from the vicinity of Fairfield Village in Cypress, Texas. Starting low in the sky the light gradually grew in size and brilliance and appeared to draw closer. From where they stood, observers in the neighborhood said the unidentified object continued its apparent growth until they could discern a distinct cigar shape or disc-like appearance similar to what were popularly called "flying saucers" in the 1940’s and '50's. This "craft" which approached from a great distance was evidently of a metallic nature and seemed to glow or emit an intense radiation but made no sound. As it quickly drew near, the object took a sudden, almost instantaneous turn to the northwest.

A traveler heading west on US 290 claimed she saw something fall from the sky about a mile north of the freeway shortly after the object sped away and out of sight. "Whatever it was that popped out of that spaceship landed somewhere up near Zube Park on Roberts Road. Somebody oughta go back in them there woods and see what's what with that thing!"

Reports going back to the 1940’s have claimed alien eggs or "pods" have been found by farmers, woodsmen and hunters and that they contain the offspring of "martians" or extraterrestrials that are being seeded throughout the galaxy. Although many claim these reports are just tall tales or flights of fantasy some swear they are true. One thing is common about all of these stories however: it is nearly always a friend of a friend who found it, or a friend's uncle or some such indirect attribution. As far as we can tell, either these stories are false, or simply no one has survived to give a first-person account of their encounter with the Alien Spawn.

See if you can find the alien egg near Hockley, at the reported coordinates given above.  Four stages of alien development are believed to be represented in this "pod."  Help yourself to one or two (or if the kids can't decide, heck, let 'em take one of each.) Aliens are very tolerant beings but they prefer to germinate by themselves so if you leave anything in this cache, please, only other aliens.  Good luck, and as they say on the Sun (and in Texas!), "Live long and perspire."
