A multi-part virtual trail around a beatiful cemetery in Paris. Mostly good terrain but a long walk.
A companion to our "Death in Venice" cache. A London cemetery crawl to follow soon!
This was intended to be a traditional cache with a box but we were ejected from the cemetery which closes at 6pm. Be warned- don't get locked in over-night!
The virtual trail is at Pere Lachaise cemetery, a famous and evocative site that one could easily spend many hours in. There are a multitude of famous people buried here and there are easily available maps at every entrance.
To claim this cache follow the clues below. They will give you the final cache site which is an unusual gravestone at

These 2 were famously united in death. Their grave was re-sited by an Abbess in 17ZB.

A funny man, apparently. He died in 191D
Clue 4 "Painter"

A feather on the grave indicates this man's profession. He was born in 17X0.
Clue 5 "I told you I was sick!"

This playwright famously died on stage during an appropriate play of his own. This death occured in 167W
Clue 6 "Anthropometrist"

What do you mean you don't know what one is? This individual was one of the forerunners to the use of fingerprints. He was born in 18Y3
Clue 7 "I will have to die beyond my means"

An obviously well-loved grave- it is covered in kisses. The grave was restored in 199V
