gahpee: Called in to check the cache today to find it had been bulldozed and was in a sad condition. Recent logging activity in the area and changes to seasonal road closures has also made the cache area difficult to access and hence the time has come for one of the first caches placed in Victoria to be retired. In response to Sparky's comments below, we visited the cache on 28/4/02 to review its location and were amazed at the amount of regrowth that had taken place. which now makes access very difficult indeed. We have relocated it to be more accessible and it is now about 200M NE of the original location and about 10M off a walking track. It is in a new container which has a very tight lid - please make sure it is replaced correctly. We left the original cache in place with the revised coordinates on a note inside in case anyone goes hunting with old information.

The cache is still in a white plastic bucket but no longer buried.

Note: The road in from the south via Toolangi and Kalatha Camp is much better than from the north (via Murrindindi) but either way should be ok in a 2WD vehicle providing there has been no recent rain.
