Geocache Description:


 Zo Skalky je krásny výhľad na okolité obce a prírodu.

 Prístup je nenáročný a vhodný aj pre rodiny s deťmi.

 

Otvor v skale „Skalka“ na kaplnku dal vytesať vtedajší richtár okolo roku 1870, neskôr sa kaplnka stala pútnickým miestom. Veriaci sa tu stretávajú pri modlitbách, litániách, krížovej ceste i na slávení svätej omše, ktorá býva na slávnosť Sedembolestnej Panny Márie. V roku 2000 bola vysvätená novopostavená kaplnka aj so sochou Panny Márie a sv. Bernadety. Mesto dobudovalo areál kompletne v roku 2008 vybudovaním prístrešku a prístupovej cesty.

 

Povesť:

Povesť z 13. storočia hovorí, že keď uhorský kráľ Ladislav IV. bol na poľovačke v oravských lesoch, prišla strašná búrka a kráľovská družina sa rozutekala. S kráľom zostali len dvaja bratia, ktorí sa spolu s ním schovali do výčlenku v skale (Skalka). Ohrozil ich medveď, ktorého bratia zabili, a tak zachránili kráľovi život. Z vďaky za pomoc daroval kráľ obidvom bratom územie, ktoré sa začalo volať Medvedzie. Obidvaja bratia a ich potomkovia sa odvtedy volajú Medveckí.

The hole in the rock "Skalka" on the chapel was carved by the rector around 1870, later the chapel became a place of pilgrimage. Believers meet here for prayers, litanies, the Way of the Cross and for the celebration of the Holy Mass, which is usually for the feast of the Seven Sorrowful Virgin Mary. In 2000, the newly built chapel with the statue of the Virgin Mary and St. Bernadette. The city completely completed the entire area in 2008 by building a shelter and an access road.

 

Reputation:

A legend from the 13th century says that when the Hungarian king Ladislav IV. he was hunting in the Orava forests, a terrible storm came and the royal party ran away. Only two brothers remained with the king, who hid with him in a recess in the rock (Skalka). They were threatened by a bear, which the brothers killed, so they saved the king's life. In gratitude for their help, the king gave both brothers a territory that came to be called Medvedzie. Both brothers and their descendants have been called Medveckí ever since.
