The village of Yarm is on a narrow peninsular of the river Tees. It has a very attractive wide high street, with a few shops, and an impressive railway viaduct. The river used to be tidal here until the Tees Barrage was built further down stream .
As the village is only a few feet above the river it has suffered from flooding on numerous occasions.
To claim this cache I need the first flood line date and the last line of the shield shaped plaque above it.
Then have an explore of the village!
