Trimming path edges and creating bug and newt-friendly habitats
Parking: Suggested parking is in the car park at the provided coords, there is a footbridge to take you over to Horsbere. Or if there is space you can park by the gates leading in to Horsbere Brook Reserve (alternative parking).
Where: Meet up 12:30 by the main gates leading in to the Reserve (alternative parking coords), or after that find us along the pond-side path (farm side - headline coords). See waypoint for kissing gate to access this path.
What: Join us for today's CITO where we will be lightly trimming the path edges around the pond, as well as creating a refuge for newts and bugs.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools if necessary. Please bring your own work gloves and, if you have them, appropriate tools. So if you have shears and secateurs, please bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have tools however as the Ranger will have a supply too.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please make sure you bring along your own refreshments as it can be thirsty work.
Homemade cake will be provided at breaktime!
