Geocache Description:

Tim & June are founder members of the
The Geocaching Association of Great Britain

Frensham Little Pond is one of two lakes in Surrey which were originally made to provide a water supply for a local Bishop.

Ickle (or Little) Pond was placed to compliment our other nearby cache ‘Big Pond’ both ponds are situated within Frensham Common which consists of roughly 1000 acres of attractive countryside, midway between Farnham and Hindhead on either side of the A287.

The National Trust owns the site, but Waverley Borough Council manages most of the land. The Common comprises a large area of heathland, together with some coniferous and mixed woodland, and two large ponds, known as Frensham Great and Little Ponds.

Please keep to the paths, this is an area of Special Scientific Interest and is home to some rare species including the Dartford Warbler which are ground nesting birds.
