An informal gathering, from 9.30pm to 10:00pm on Wednesday 21 June 2023, hoping to watch the summer solstice sunset at 9.42pm.
The summer solstice is the longest day of the year, when the tilt of Earth's axis is most inclined towards the sun. Immediately afterwards the days start to shorten into winter...
The only aim is to watch the sunset. This event will take place irrespective of the weather. The sunset will still happen even if we can't see it.
The nearest car park is at the Sutton Bank National Park Centre, a walk of about 1.4 km (0,9 miles) along the Cleveland Way.
