Black Hambleton is the highest point and culminating point of the Hambleton Hills - and a fitting place to watch the summer solstice sunrise. The event will run from 4.15am to 4.45am, with the sunset expected at 4.32am. Come along, encounter the summer solstice sunrise, have a chat, exchange TBs, join in the banter.
Black Hambleton is the 6888th highest peak in the British Isles and the 837th tallest in England. The event is at the trig point, about 399m (1309 feet) above sea level. Access to the trig point is via a short track that runs eastwards from a pile of stones on the Cleveland Way.
You will need to come prepared for the worst that the North York Moors can throw at you. Please wear suitable boots and clothing and bring a torch. You will navigate yourself to and from the event site - there is no guided walk on and off the hill.
The nearest car park is at Square Corner - a walk of about 2km (1.25 miles) along a rough and, in places, steep track.
