Geocache Description:

02 August 2023, 10:30 - 13:00

Tall Tales in Stony Stratford

When – Wednesday 2nd August 2023, 10:30am to 1pm

Where – Horsefair Green, Stony Stratford

What – The Roman Road of Watling Street runs through Stony Stratford and on that road are two public houses. The Cock Inn and The Bull Inn. These two inns were staging posts for different stagecoach lines between London and Birmingham. This created a lot of rivalry and that extended to competitive story telling, each inn trying to outdo the other in telling tall stories. We'll leave you all to work out the phrase that this gave it's name to...

We will have a local professional storyteller who will be bringing the history and myths to life, this is definitely one not to be missed! Book your ticket for one of the walks now on our website.

You can then get from here to the Ouse Valley Park Litterpick GCA77NC
