Where – Horsefair Green, Stony Stratford
What – The Roman Road of Watling Street runs through Stony Stratford and on that road are two public houses. The Cock Inn and The Bull Inn. These two inns were staging posts for different stagecoach lines between London and Birmingham. This created a lot of rivalry and that extended to competitive story telling, each inn trying to outdo the other in telling tall stories.
