Cache is located in the Valley of the Gods.
Cache is a large black box, with "GEOCACHING.COM" painted on its
side in gold letters. Cache is not hidden, but you'll have a great
time getting to it. You have about a .15 mile hike, with about a
250 foot elevation gain. Cache is at 5,310 feet elevation. Wear
sturdy shoes and bring water. I placed the cache with no equipment,
so you can get to it without use of a rope or ladders, you just
have to know where to climb up.

The first person that found this cache informed me the they had a
little trouble with the cliffs/coordinates. Just so you don't get
in to any dangerous situations, and because I really prefer to have
people FIND my caches, I will tell you that the cache is viewable
from the road, if you know where to look. Get out some binoculars
and see if you can spot it before you set out. 2nd hint: In the
afternoon, the cache is in the shade. 11-23-2001 I visited this
cache today, and it was right where I left it. My coords were about
100 feet off, which is not unusual, given the havoc cliffs like
these play with GPSRs. I have moved the cache to a spot more easily
seen from the road, although you still have quite a climb to get to
it. Be careful, and I suggest leaving the kids down below.
Enjoy,
I returned to this cache on 1 July 2006, actually to replace a
container for another cache in the area, but naturally, I couldnt'
resist visiting this one. I almost didn't make it, as my memory of
the best route has faded considerably in 5 years. The contents were
a tad sparse, but the cache itself is still very much intact, and I
suspect this one will last at least another 5 years at this lofty
perch. One thing is certain: I won't be climbing back up there any
time soon.
