Geocache Description:

This cache was hidden in honor of my niece Erika’s 11th birthday. As a part of her birthday present I promised her another girls day adventure with her good friends the Lynch girls, that she feels she doesn’t get to see enough. It’s a great excuse for us to plan a day together strictly for fun. We all had a great day and hope you enjoy the park as much as we did.

(This cache was first discovered vandalized on Aug 8th, 2004.. the remains of the cache were gratefully trashed out by Arkville on August 14th, 2004. A new cache was hidden on Sept 3 at the current coordinates. It's not far from the original cache. Hope you continue having fun!)

This cache hunt brings you to Esopus Meadows, another of Scenic Hudson’s scenic hudson river parks. Just beyond the 3,500-foot shoreline of this 100 acre preserve lies one of the Hudson River's most important spawning grounds for striped bass. There are two miles of wooded trails across varied terrain with views of the 1838 Esopus Meadows Lighthouse and historic Mills Mansion. This is a part of the Tribe’s Great Northern Expansion Movement. Enjoy the Hudson Valley wineries along this Northern section of Route 9W.
