Geocache Description:

Another year has gone and another years’ worth of reports of a Leprechaun in the park have come into the office.  Thanks to all of those who have tried to help that park staff confirm these stories and those who have added to them.

This year once again started off where last year ended.  This area of the park is a off the beaten path and just the area one might start looking for a Leprechaun.

One of the stories that came to us this past summer came from a camper who shared that while getting set up in their campsite they stated they saw a small child rummaging about in the tall grass across from their campsite. Fearing this might be a lost child they called to the child to get his attention. To their surprise this was no child but according to them was a small bearded man who quickly disappeared.

Did you know leprechauns are more than just a fairy tale according to the Irish Post they are listed as an endangered species under European law.  The Slieve Foye Loop trail in the town of Carlingford in Ireland is known as the officially protected land for the countries 236 living leprechauns.

We wish you the best of luck as you head out on this quest.
