Where the Salamander Swims Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Team Willow: Well, I visited the park today and I'm sad to report that the cache is gone and the cache area has been completely excavated and regraded. I completely understand why the borough needed to perform this reconstruction, but it seems like a lot of the wild nature of this park is now gone. That said, this is still a good park for a cache and I welcome our newer members to consider hiding one here. I'll look forward to finding it. Thanks to all who have supported this cache.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a relocation of the “Squaw and the Pheasant Cache”. It is now located in Salamander Park on Fox Chapel Road. The parking lot is small so park appropriately. This park is a nature preserve so the trails are well groomed. There are many birdhouses and marked foliage on the trails. Bushwacking should not be necessary and should be avoided. When it is necessary to leave the main trail, do so at an appropriate location; thereby, respecting the ground cover. Also, there are some rather steep dropoffs at points so keep your eyes on the trail and not just your GPSr - You will not need to go over cliffs. (The hills surrounding the Squaw Run valley cause terrible satellite triangulation angles.)

The cache is contained in a clear Rubbermaid container with a blue lid.
