Esta cache pretende incentivar a visita da Casa Allen e Casa das Artes, afetas à Direção Regional da Cultura Norte, assim como do espaço verde onde se encontram. É de entrada livre, não deixe de visitar!
A Casa Allen foi mandada construir em 1927, pelo 3º Visconde de Villar d´Allen, para sua residência, segundo projeto do Arquiteto Marques da Silva. Foi erguida numa época em que o Porto assistiu ao surgimento de um grande número de palacetes, que imprimiram à cidade uma marca burguesa. A Casa das Artes constitui a primeira obra de grande notoriedade do Arquiteto Eduardo Souto Moura prémio Secil), projetada em 1981, assumindo-se como um edifício silencioso e discreto, que constrói um dos limites do singular jardim. A Casa das Artes e a Casa Allen têm tido programação própria, acolhendo novos talentos nas artes plásticas e atividades performativas, e atividades diversas de índole artístico-cultural, tais como apresentações de livros ou workshops.
No espaço verde merece visita o tulipeiro-da-virgínia, um icónico exemplar de Liriodendron tulipifera L., uma árvore imponente com uma copa frondosa e com a singularidade de alguns dos seus ramos inferiores descerem até ao solo, no qual poisam, e crescem horizontalmente. Este tulipeiro encontra-se em vias de classificação como árvore de interesse público, e está protegido, pelo Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas. No Verão são vários os eventos de entrada livre, que decorrem no seu espaço verde, e fazem as delícias a miúdos e graúdos. Fora dos eventos organizados, trata-se de um espaço muito acolhedor e sossegado, contrastando com outros espaços verdes da cidade.
Esta cache fica situada num caminho verde e habitacional que serve de acesso (pedonal) às entradas da Casa Allen (Rua António Cardoso) e Casa das Artes (Rua Ruben A), e está acessível a qualquer dia e hora. Tem a particularidade de representar um elemento verde (intruso) nesta área do Porto merecedora de destaque.
Acrescenta-se que a visita à Casa Allen / Casa das Artes / Jardim obedece a um horário, sendo que a entrada da Rua António Cardoso pode estar encerrada, mas poder aceder-se pela Rua Ruben A. Sugerimos como horario de abertura o da Casa das Artes: 2ª feira: 14h30/18h30; 3ª a 6ª feira: 10h00/12h15-14h30/18h30; sábado: 14h30/20h45; domingo: 14h30/18h45; encerra aos feriados.

The "Casa Allen" was built in 1927 by the 3rd Viscount of Villar d ́Allen for his residence, according to the project of architect Marques da Silva. It was erected at a time when Porto witnessed the emergence of a large number of mansions, which printed the city a bourgeois brand. The "Casa das Artes" is the first work of great notoriety of architect Eduardo Souto Moura (Secil prize), designed in 1981, assuming itself as a quiet and discreet building, which builds one of the limits of the singular garden. "Casa das Artes" and "Casa Allen" have their own programming, welcoming new talents in the visual arts and performing activities, and various artistic-cultural activities, such as book presentations or workshops.
In the green space worth visiting the Virginia tulip tree, an iconic specimen of Liriodendron tulipifera L., an imposing tree with a leafy canopy and with the uniqueness of some of its lower branches descend to the ground, in which they dry, and grow horizontally. This tulip tree is in the process of being classification as a tree of public interest, and is protected by the Institute for Conservation of Nature and Forests. In summer there are several free entry events, which take place in its green space, and delight adults and children. Outside the organized events, it is a very cozy and quiet space, contrasting with other green spaces of the city.
This cache is situated on a green and residential path that serves as access (pedestrian) to the entrances of "Casa Allen" (António Cardoso Street) and "Casa das Artes" (Ruben A Street), and is accessible at any day and time. It has the particularity of representing a green element (intruder) in this area of Porto worthy of prominence.
It is added that the visit to Casa Allen / Casa das Artes / Jardim obeys a schedule, and the entrance to Rua António Cardoso may be closed, but can be accessed by Ruben A Street.
