Willow whacking, bramble bashing and brash burning
Parking: There are lots of options for parking, see the relevant waypoints. Rea Lane is very narrow and so if you would prefer not to worry about parking then Sims Lane may be easier, if a bit of a longer walk to get to the meeting point. If you do attempt Rea Lane and find both suggested parking areas are full then you will need to park further up the lane and walk down.
Where: Find us at the meeting point for 1300, see trail ahead waypoint or follow the track to the given coords - I will get my flag out which will hopefully make us easier to spot.
What: The task is clearing willow and bramble from the edge of the lake and a smaller pond, and burning some brash from a previous task.
How: The warden will be there providing guidance. We ask you to bring your own gloves and if you have them tools, so if you have shears, loppers or saw please do bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have them as the warden will have a supply too, but we will need you to log that you require tools.
As we will be working by the side of the lake and pond you may wish to bring along your wellies.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Gloucester County Council insurance as long as you are working under the warden's instruction.
Please make sure you bring along your own refreshments as it can be thirsty work!
Please do drop by if you have any time to spare, your help is invaluable.
