Abolish Annoyances at Alney Island
Parking: Is at the given parking coordinates, please note that you can only access the site from the dual-carriageway going towards Over roundabout, see the trail ahead waypoint to see where to access the car park. There will be plenty of parking onsite as the ranger will open the barrier to allow parking side of the lane.
If you are arriving after the start time please send me a message via my geocaching profile and I will run on up with the keys to let you in. Don't worry there is a pull in off the dual-carriageway for you to wait in your vehicle.
Where: Meet by the metal security gates on the track at the trail ahead waypoint at 1000, we will be directing you down to the parking, or meet us near the published coordinates if arriving by other means.
What: The project is clearing alder to open up the view into the marsh, there is also likely to be brambles that need clearing too.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance. We ask you to bring your own gloves and if you have them tools, so if you have shears, loppers and a saw please do bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have any tools as the ranger will have a supply.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please make sure you bring along your own refreshments as it can be thirsty work!
