Geocache Description:

A scenic vista along one of the most beautiful hikes in North Carolina.

This is an easy find, once you get to the coordinates, but it is a hike to get there on a clear cut trail. It isn't a long hike, about a mile or so, but there are some steep up and down sections. The weather here is unpredictable, so make sure to come prepared for anything, anytime of year. Also, check for Blue Ridge Parkway closures especially in winter, as sometimes, only the Asheville side of the parkway is open. Call 828-298-0398 for road and weather conditions on parkway. Also make sure to bring a camera, as there are many unusual species of plants and animals to be seen here. There is also a very primitive camping area located a couple miles down from the parking area and also a family style resturant near there.

You will be looking for a bronze plaque set into a rock. To log this cache, you will need to answer the following two questions:
1) Who is this plaque in honor of?
2) Why is this person memorialized here?

E-mail me with your answers to claim this virtual cache as a find. As always, please don't post your answers here (even if encrypted) or your log will be deleted.

Enjoy the hike!
