McToy (Hants) Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

paul.blitz: As highlighted, tim has ovetraken the clues, and it's time to retire this cache.

Maybe we'll place a new one is the same area (which was in the small woods by the playing fields, in Littleton) one day

Paul

Geocache Description:

This is a "Multi-Quiz-Cache" and both parts are placed within a 3 mile range of Winchester.

This cache is a rather different form of Multi-Cache.... let's call it a "Multi-Quiz-Cache" (or should it be "Quiz-Multi-Cache"?.

First of all, you need to find a quiz disk. You will find a load of these in the first cache, at the noted location, to the north of Winchester.

In fact, the first cache is a sort of "double cache"... there are 2 (fairly small) bits to it, within 10 feet of each other (its fairly obvious when you see it).

Whilst the property is private, as long as it is a corner property, and has a dark green garage door with the magic number "25" above it, then you have the owners permission to look for the cache on the side lawn near the big tree! (if you see a silver Peugeot 407 parked outside, feel free to knock on the front door & say hello! You might even be offered a cup of tea :-) )

(don't worry about the padlock.... just take the lid off!)

Next, you need a PC so that you can insert the floppy disk, look at the "readme.txt" and then run the quiz! The quiz has 9 questions, all are about caches in the Winchester area.

(If you get any problems with the floppy, just email me, and I'll email you back the files you need for the quiz!)

If you get all 9 questions right, then you should end up with a suggested parking location, plus the the McToy Cache location. Please use the suggested parking, which is safe, has plenty of space for the kids to run around, a playground, and a pub about 100 yards away from the cache.

On the other hand, if you get one or more questions wrong, then you will end up at the carpark / front door of one of several pubs in the Winchester area. (I suspect that some of you might run the quiz a few times, just to give some wrong answers!!!)

The actual McToy cache is a large plastic lunchbox, full of small cuddly toys, which came from a well known high-street restaurant chain, a few balloons from that same place, and maybe a few other silly bits too. The lunchbox is wrapped in a black plastic bag, to help it blend in better with the surroundings!

It will not surprise you to be told that this cache is quite suitable for children of all ages... (just please be aware that the terrain within 15 metres of the cache does contain holes etc)

I hope you enjoy this novel way of finding a cache!

I've rated the difficulty at 3, simply because you have a quiz to do! The actual McToy cache is probably just a 2.
