Geocache Description:

Welcome to Greenwich Park, a former hunting park and one of the largest green spaces in south-east London. It is part of the Greenwich World Heritage site and is listed Grade I on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. Greenwich Park is open all year round, usually from 6am until dusk.

This land was originally owned by Saint Peter's Abbey, Ghent but reverted to the Crown in 1427. Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester gave it to his nephew, Henry VI, who built a house by the river and a small castle (called Greenwich Castle) on the hill. James I enclosed the park in the early 17th century with a brick wall, twelve feet high and two miles long at a cost of £2000, much of which remains and defines the modern boundary. In 1675, the castle, by now in a state of disrepair, was chosen as the site of the Royal Observatory by Charles II. The public were first granted access to Greenwich Park during the 18th century.

This cache is the bonus for the Greenwich Park Adventure Lab. The numbers needed for the final cache location can be found in the journal for each Adventure Lab zone. Unfiortunately, the cache is approximately 900 metres from the park (to the west) due to cache proximity, but hopefully I have placed it somewhere useful.

The cache can be found at N51 28.ABC  W000 00.DEF
