We're meeting up in Piccadilly Gardens - mostly for convenience for me as I'm staying nearby at a training event, but also because it's a lovely spot in the city. I've often had lovely trips to Manchester, as my niece graduated from the University of Salford nearby. Of course, who can forget the most important Geocaching thing to happen in Manchester - Geocoinfest Europe 2019. While it wasn't the first city-based Mega event in the UK (the Geolympix held two events in Oxford prior), the model is one that we've since adopted for our events.
So we'll meet up and have a chat about all things geocaching, We might move away from the coordinates a touch if there's space to sit elsewhere around the fountain. But we should be fairly obvious! Once you've seen a cacher, you tend to recognise the signs. ;)
The London Calling 2023 Committee are going on tour! We didn't get to do this much during the run-up to our first Mega, so we're very pleased we can get out and about and see lots of local cachers around the country and the world! If you're considering attending our London Mega, then please take a looking at the listing here: GC9MAXX
Plus this feels like coming home - the idea for London Calling was born in Manchester over lunch at a coffee shop opposite the Geocoinfest. Never a "we can do this better", but very much a "this is so great, why couldn't we do this in London" type vibe. So thank you to those at the Geocoinfest as always for making London Calling possible.
