Las ciudades son espacios urbanizados, ásperos y muchas veces agresivos, en los que el frenético ritmo del día a día nos mantiene tan ajetreados que no tenemos tiempo para mirar a nuestro alrededor. Si hacemos un alto en nuestro sin vivir diario y «miramos» la ciudad podemos ver que no estamos solos. Compartimos el espacio urbano con otros seres vivos, que han hecho de la ciudad su lugar de vida, su espacio natural durante todo el año, o sólo en determinadas épocas.
Las aves son, sin lugar a dudas, parte esencial del alma de la ciudad. Ellas nos recuerdan qué somos y de dónde venimos, acercándonos a nuestras raíces que están en la naturaleza, que nos sirve de soporte y nos aporta los recursos de los que dependemos.
En estos tiempos de crisis ambiental las aves necesitan amigos. Quienes las conocen y aprecian son, por definición, parte interesada y activa en el vigente esfuerzo global en pro de la conservación. Animales en su mayor parte diurnos, dotados de hermosos colores, suaves plumas, vistosos comportamientos y sobre todo, quizás, de la envidiable capacidad de volar, tienen en este sentido poderes de seducción muy valiosos. Mueven voluntades, ponen en marcha esfuerzos y movilizan recursos en mayor medida que otros muchos componentes de la biodiversidad. Y ayudarlas equivale a socorrer a todo el conjunto y a la postre, a nosotros mismos.
Bajo esta temática, desde Mad4Geo colaboramos con la organización de Brunete4Geo organizando este CITO, donde con distintas charlas y juegos aprenderemos más cosas sobres las aves urbanas, y haremos un taller de construcción de comederos para pájaros con materiales reciclados, que podrás instalar en tu ventana, balcón, terraza o jardín.
Un comedero para pájaros es un recipiente donde se coloca el alimento, para que las aves puedan comer libremente y de forma segura. Instalar comederos representa una acción ambientalista que ayuda a aumentar el número, además de la diversidad, de las especies que viven en zonas urbanas.
Alimentar aves te permite disfrutar de una maravillosa observación, porque las especies vendrán a comer muy cerca de tu hogar y, además contribuirás a su supervivencia durante las temporadas de clima frío.
El sentido de estos depósitos de alimentos está en que las personas podamos ayudar a las aves que habitan en la ciudad. Estas están adaptadas a convivir con nosotros y, en cierta forma, existe cierta dependencia. En las zonas rurales ocurre todo lo contrario, las aves habitan en zonas donde la naturaleza les ofrece todo lo que necesitan.
Desde la organización se llevarán materiales y herramientas para la construcción de los comederos, pero no dudéis en traeros los materiales que queráis para hacer vuestros diseños más originales.

Cities are urbanized, rough and often aggressive spaces, in which the frenetic pace of everyday life keeps us so busy that we don't have time to look around us. If we take a break from our daily life and "look" at the city, we can see that we are not alone. We share the urban space with other living beings, who have made the city their place of life, their natural space throughout the year, or only at certain times.
Birds are, without a doubt, an essential part of the soul of the city. They remind us of who we are and where we come from, bringing us closer to our roots, which are in nature, which supports us and provides us with the resources on which we depend.
In these times of environmental crisis, birds need friends. Those who know and appreciate them are, by definition, interested and active parties in the current global effort for conservation. Mostly diurnal animals, endowed with beautiful colors, soft feathers, showy behavior and above all, perhaps, the enviable ability to fly, have in this sense very valuable powers of seduction. They move wills, launch efforts and mobilize resources to a greater extent than many other components of biodiversity. And helping them is equivalent to helping the whole group and, ultimately, ourselves.
Under this theme, from Mad4Geo we collaborate with the organization of Brunete4Geo organizing this CITO, where with different talks and games we will learn more about urban birds, and we will do a workshop on building bird feeders with recycled materials, which you can install in your window, balcony, terrace or garden.
A bird feeder is a container where food is placed, so that birds can eat freely and safely. Installing feeders represents an environmentalist action that helps increase the number, as well as the diversity, of the species that live in urban areas.
Feeding birds allows you to enjoy a wonderful observation, because the species will come to eat very close to your home and, in addition, you will contribute to their survival during the cold weather seasons.
The purpose of these food deposits is that people can help the birds that live in the city. These are adapted to live with us and, in a certain way, there is a certain dependency. In rural areas the opposite happens, birds live in areas where nature offers them everything they need.
The organization will take materials and tools for the construction of the feeders, but do not hesitate to bring the materials you want to make your most original designs.
