Congratulations to TeamToogood for FTF!!!
The long overdue church micro for the Holy Ghost Chuch, Midsomer Norton! However, due to pre-existing caches in Midsomer Norton, it is placed a short stroll away from the actual church.
Cache only conatains a log and so you will need to bring pen/pencil.
Please use stealth due to being in a residential area and make sure the cache hidden away from plain view when replacing!
History of the Chuch:
The building was once a tithe barn owned by the Augustinian Canons of Merton Priory in Surrey.
It is the second-oldest remaining structure in Midsomer Norton, dating from the 15th century.
Following Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries, the barn was given to the King and formed part of the patrimony of Christ Church, Oxford. By 1886, it was no longer required for the storage of tithes in kind, and it was auctioned off to a private owner.
Downside Abbey bought the building in 1906 for use as a church, and it was blessed as a church in May 1913.
