The City of Greater Geelong has 823 caches. Of those, over 120 of them are on the Bellarine Rail Trail, so it is clear that Geocachers in Geelong love this Trail. We have had great times walking along the Bellarine Rail Trail, finding caches.
This CITO has been organised to clean up one of the areas on the Bellarine Rail Trail that tends to be quite untidy. It backs onto homes and an industrial area. We wondered where we could run our first CITO and decided that putting back into the Bellarine Rail Trail would be a way of saying thank you.
All that being said, we would love to see fellow cachers on Easter Monday to clean up the section between Wilsons Road and Coppards Road in Newcomb.
We want everyone attending to be safe, so please follow the guidelines below.
- gloves, a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle are advisable
- please observe personal distancing
- please do not congregate
- please keep a regular check on the cache page
- updates and notifications will be posted via announcements on the cache page
Garbage bags will be supplied.
This CITO is in the CITO 2022 Season 1, so you can earn the beautiful souvenir below by attending and cleaning up the Bellarine Rail Trail.
