"TOUS VOUS ETES FRERES"
A Sion, le monument de la paix a été inauguré le 9 septembre 1973, devant une foule de 8 à 10 000 pèlerins.
Son initiateur est le Père Louis Henry, prisonnier en Ukraine durant la Seconde guerre mondiale et oblat à Sion de 1969 à 1973.
Ce monument est constitué d'une pierre horizontale symbolisant la fraternité, elle-même soutenant la roche verticale de la paix, les deux étant issues du sous-sol de la colline.
Différents drapeaux surplombent cet ensemble, au gré des événements.
En ce moment, c'est celui de l'Ukraine qui a été hissé.
De nombreuses plaques nous rappellent les différentes réconciliations et jumelages ayant eu lieu ici.
Ce monument inscrit définitivement le site de Sion dans un esprit de rapprochement des peuples, de lutte pour la paix et de réconciliation entre les nations meurtries.
C'est dans ce même élan que Willi Gunschmann, prisonnier de guerre devenu oblat, a réalisé la même année les décorations de verre du chemin de croix dit " chemin de la paix" et qu'un ex-voto de réconciliation en pierre blanche orne désormais l'autel de l'espoir dans la basilique.
Pour valider cette géocache, vous devrez non seulement publier un log mais aussi une photographie prise aux coordonnées indiquées. On pourra y voir votre visage, mais c'est optionnel. Ce peut être également votre GPS ou téléphone, ou encore votre pseudonyme. Cette consigne est obligatoire. Ne pas la respecter entraînera la suppression de votre log.
De façon facultative mais appréciée, vous pourrez aussi faire apparaître sur la photographie un symbole de paix : l'index et le majeur en "V" comme les hippies, la colombe, le symbole rond international de la patte de cet oiseau , une accolade avec vos proches, le mot "paix", réconciliation" ou "fraternité" sur un papier, un coeur, une main serrée, etc... et pourquoi pas un gros bisou sur une joue !
