Masada Virtual Cache

Towering high above the Judean desert are the ruins of a fortress whose name is legendary not only in Israel but throughout the world. Surrounded by deep ravines, it lies seemingly in the middle of nowhere. And yet it is one of the most important national shrines of Israel, a symbol of the freedom of the Jewish people. Every child in Israel knows the name of the place, and its cruel history: Masada.

I will not write more about Masada. You know the history of it... otherwise you would not have chosen the fortress as a destination and taken the climb up the "Snake Path" or the ride on the cable car.

This Virtual Cache is also for cachers who are not good on foot. It will take you to some of the highlights on Masada.

Hoch über der Wüste von Judäa thronen die Ruinen einer Festung, deren Name nicht nur in Israel, sondern der ganzen Welt legendär ist. Umgeben von tiefen Schluchten liegt sie scheinbar im Nirgendwo. Und doch ist sie eines der wichtigsten National-Heiligtümer von Israel, ein Symbol der Freiheit des jüdischen Volkes. Jedes Kind in Israel kennt den Namen des Ortes, und seine grausame Geschichte: Masada.

Mehr schreibe ich nicht zu Masada. Du kennt die Historie dazu… sonst hättest du die Festung nicht als Reiseziel ausgesucht und den Aufstieg über den „Snake Path“ oder die Fahrt mit der Seilbahn auf dich genommen.

Dieser Virtual Cache ist auch für Cacher gedacht, die nicht gut zu Fuß sind. Er führt euch zu einigen Highlights auf Masada.
