THE LAST GATE: HALLE GATE
Brussels' second city wall included 7 gates, of which the Hal Gate, built in 1381, is the last remnant. The wall and the other 6 gates were demolished between 1818 and 1840 to make way for the construction of the boulevards of the 'petite ceinture'. The Hal Gate was converted into a museum in 1847. It housed the first collections of the Royal Museums of Art and History.
If you have the time, you can visit the very nice museum which offers a permanent exhibition of the history of the building and its occupation through the centuries, but also the history of the city, its defence, its guilds and its folklore. Among the exhibits are several famous masterpieces, including guild collars, the parade armour of Archduke Albert of Habsburg, his and his wife's horse, the Infanta Isabel-Claire-Eugenie of Austria, and the so-called "cradle of Charles V". The museum is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
To log the cache, take a photo of the gate with proof of your visit (selfie, stamp, gps or why not a museum entrance ticket). This listing will be checked regularly and logs without a photo meeting the requirements will be deleted.

LA DERNIERE PORTE: LA PORTE DE HAL
La seconde enceinte de Bruxelles comportait 7 portes, dont la porte de Hal, construite en 1381, est le dernier vestige. Le mur d'enceinte et les 6 autres portes ont été détruits entre 1818 et 1840 pour permettre la construction des boulevards de la 'petite ceinture'. La porte de Hal a été convertie en musée dès 1847. Elle abritait alors les premiers collections des musées royaux d'art et d'histoire.
Si vous avez le temps, profitez de votre passage pour visiter le très chouette musée qui propose une exposition permanente de l’histoire du bâtiment et de son occupation à travers les siècles, mais également l'histoire de la ville, de sa défense, de ses corporations et de son folklore. Parmi les pièces exposées, on peut admirer notamment plusieurs chefs-d’œuvre célèbres parmi lesquels des colliers de guilde, l’armure de parade de l’archiduc Albert de Habsbourg, son cheval naturalisé ainsi que celui de son épouse l’infante Isabelle-Claire-Eugénie d'Autriche ou le berceau dit "de Charles Quint". Le musée est accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite.

DE LAATSTE POORT: HALLEPOORT
De tweede stadswal van Brussel had 7 poorten, waarvan de Hallepoort, gebouwd in 1381, het laatste overblijfsel is. De muur en de andere 6 poorten werden tussen 1818 en 1840 vernield om de aanleg van de boulevards van de " kleine ring " mogelijk te maken. De Hallepoort werd in 1847 omgebouwd tot een museum. Het herbergde de eerste collecties van de Koninklijke Musea voor Kunst en Geschiedenis.
Als u de tijd hebt, kunt u het zeer mooie museum bezoeken. Het biedt een permanente tentoonstelling over de geschiedenis van het gebouw en zijn gebruik door de eeuwen heen, maar ook over de geschiedenis van de stad, zijn verdedigingswerk, zijn gilden en zijn folklore. Onder de tentoongestelde stukken zijn verschillende beroemde meesterwerken, waaronder gildekragen, het paradeharnas van aartshertog Albert van Habsburg, zijn paard en dat van zijn echtgenote, de Infanta Isabel-Claire-Eugenie van Oostenrijk, en de zogenaamde "wieg van Karel V". Het museum is toegankelijk voor personen met beperkte mobiliteit.
