Sally is a living rag doll – the creation of the mad scientist Dr. Finkelstein, in whose tower she is kept prisoner. Sally is kind and clever, and in love with Jack Skellington. Besides being skilled at needlework, Sally is expert at brewing potions, some of which she uses to poison the over-protective Dr. Finkelstein so that she can escape to Halloween Town. For this cache, Sally has used her potion-making skills to bring joy to others.
The cache. Follow the instructions found inside of Sally’s wooden box. To claim this find, you MUST sign the log. All other entries will be deleted. If you are participating in the NoVAGO series, don’t forget to record the secret code word.
Some rules and requests. Please treat this puzzle box with care. It would take some significant effort to recreate it. It doesn’t like rain. Please properly reset things and restore the challenge for the next person and rehide well. Please let me know if anything seems amiss. Finally, please be discrete in your log – I’d like to maintain (or even enhance) the mystery of what’s in the cache for future finders.
The approach. The nearest street parking is on Tapestry Drive (see provided waypoint). The best and nearest entrance into University Park is from the sidewalk along Braddock Road at the fence line with neighboring residences (see provided trailhead waypoint). This park is ungroomed; it has no trails or other amenities. You will need to do some light bushwhacking to reach the cache.
Permissions. The Fairfax County Park Authority has given approval for geocaching in University Park. Hours are from dawn to dusk. Night caching is strictly prohibited.
