St Peter's Church CITO
1000-1200 (approx)
Saturday 9th October 2021
Hi guys! We've been invited back to this lovely rural church on Saturday 9th October to help the church volunteers prepare for their AutumnFest.
The main tasks will be:
- Focusing on Commonwealth war graves to tidy them.
- Using the heavy duty strimmer and hand strimmers to cut back the undergrowth.
- Cutting back low hanging branches especially over the footpaths.
- Trimming the hedges, especially at the gates
- Tidying the path edges
- Cleaning the war memorial
- …and any other churchyard maintenance tasks, as required
We’ll meet at the church entrance just before 10am to meet with the Parish Warden, David, who will give us our briefing. We'll then work through to about 1200 after which some light refreshments will be provided.
David and his team will provide all equipment required, but please bring your own gloves.
Please also consider wearing appropriate clothing and sensible footwear. The event will proceed in any weather unless there are high winds or storms. There will be appropriate tasks for almost any ability level.
There will be the usual opportunities to exchange trackables and as this event has an official CM number, it will count toward your CM stats. This cache also falls during CITO 2021, Season 2, so you will be able to earn a CITO 2021 Season 2 souvenir by attending.
IMPORTANT:
1. Please bring your own gloves.
2. Please indicate your ‘will attend’
...so we have an idea of numbers and you will receive any updates to proceedings. Experience has shown this is often the case!
Parking
There is a large car park immediately adjacent to the church (as per the waypoint coordinates) which should have ample space for everyone to attend.
Health and Safety
All health and safety rules apply. Children will need supervision and pets kept under control.
Any more questions, please get in touch!
Thanks for reading this, and hope to see you there!
