Pembrey website: https://www.pembreycountrypark.wales/things-to-do/
Pembrey Country Park covers 500acres of glorious parkland. Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Gower Peninsula and overlooking the coastal scenery of Carmarthen Bay, the Park had been transformed into one of Wales’s top visitor attractions providing a unique blend of coast and countryside.

Cefn Sidan Beach was the first beach in Wales to achieve the coveted blue flag award and boasts over 8 miles of sandy beach. There are numerous beach entrances across the park.  Disabled access is best through the main entrance by the beach kiosk, where you will find the boardwalk.

There will be a short volunteer pre-CITO briefing either by the Park Ranger or myself before equipment will be distributed.

Parking:

Access to Pembrey Country Park is free, however if you drive in there is a charge for parking
Day tariff to park your vehicle is:
1st April to 30th September - £3.00 for up to 2hrs or £6.00 all day

For anyone wishing to walk or cycle in to the park there is no charge.

Public toilets available within the Park

Accessibility:

Wheelchair and Buggy friendly CITO.
Most of the area is wheelchair/ buggy friendly within the park and some beach areas.
Pembrey Park accessibility statement: We've done our very best to make Pembrey Country Park wheelchair and disabled access friendly with landscaped paths and ramps. ... The Accessibility statement identifies the physical adaptations and management measures provided through all areas of Pembrey Country Park to facilitate access to all.

Children are welcomed - and will have a blast with so much to see and do at Pembrey Country Park - Adventure playground, beach, crazy golf, toboganning, ski slope, cycle paths, miniature railway.

Dogs are welcome throughout the Park and on the Beach.
However, every year, from 1 May to 30 September a byelaw comes into force which restricts dogs and their owners to specific 'dog friendly' beaches. At Cefn Sidan you are still allowed to bring your dogs during these times but only in the dog friendly areas. There is a foot path from car park 1 that will take you directly onto the beach with your best friends then keep to the right hand side.

Hope to see you there!

Please Note

There is an event scheduled for 12pm-2pm nearby (see below), however there is no requirement to attend both events.

If you are planning to attend the event afterwards (GC8T9ME Picnic in the Park - Community Celebration Event) please can you log a WA so we know how many sharing cupcakes are needed (thanks Dreamer202!)

The GAGB

The Geocaching Association of Great Britain (GAGB). The Association was established in 2003 to provide a national geocaching organisation and serve as a UK point of contact for geocachers, landowners, the media and others with an interest in geocaching.

As part of its 10th anniversary, it was decided to hold a CITO weekend in September which has now become an annual event. This later evolved into a full CITO Week, with the first one being held in September 2019. It would be great to see more of these icons pop up across the country and for other members to hold their own events where it is not feasible to attend one that a committee member has organised.

There is a lot more information about what we do, including the landowner database, comprehensive event listings and Seeker e-magazine at www.gagb.org.ukIf you would like to get involved follow the link and find our contact details.

The GAGB are encouraging everyone to organise CITO events this weekend, in part to pay-back for what we hope will have been a great summer of caching, and also to make things more pleasant for future cachers. If this CITO is the nearest one to you, please come along!

More information could well be announced, so either keep watch on the listing or log your 'Will Attend' to make sure you receive the announcement logs.
