Due to covid-19, events have been suspended here and around the world but we have now moved forward to a situation where we can safely hold events again. In order to maintain the highest possible level of safety to anyone who chooses to attend, this event will be held outside. A gazebo will be erected but please allow for any bad weather and wrap up appropriately. Please feel free to take a camping chair or similar to sit under the gazebo and a flask of tea, cake and biscuits or a picnic.
Signing the log book
Traditionally, events have a physical log book to sign like a physical cache does and this event will be no different, however if people do not wish to physically sign it there are options available, I can sign it for you or you can deposit a slip of paper or sticker with your log and it can be stuck into the log book.
Trackables
There will be a trackable deposit box for any trackables that you want to drop off and numbers will be made available to attendees during the event and if anyone wants to pick any up they are more than welcome to.
Alcohol hand gel will be available for anyone who doesn't have any with them if they require use of it. If any attendees wish to wear a mask then I kindly ask other attendees to respect the decision and adhere to social distancing of anyone who requests it. As the event host I can confirm that I am partaking in daily lateral flow and weekly PCR testing.
I look forward to seeing everyone there and as always, we will be available during the published event time but this may well run over if the weather is fair and people wish to stay around.
New geocachers
Events are like regular geocaches, there is a log book to sign and you log the cache on the website or app. It's a good place to meet other cachers and ask any questions about the hobby that you may have. Events used to be a regular cache type across the north east of Scotland before covid arrived and hopefully we will see more of them in the near future. We welcome any new cachers along to any events.
