A brief event, at sunset, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pulpit Rock cache GC1AC1. Three days before the anniversary of its publication on 22nd August 2001 but the last day of our holiday for this year.
The cache was hidden by Street Pilot and adopted by heartradio in 2016. It was the 19th cache that we had ever found, on 13th August 2010. At present, it is the 16th oldest active cache in the U.K. and the 12th oldest in England. The FTF was not until 20th April 2002, by Nawtcher.
This is one of twenty live caches hidden on the islands before 2010, including The Pelistry Toll GC9D72 from Sept. 2002 plus the oldest active multi in the UK. Scilly Island Hopper GC1C7A from 6th Sept. 2001, so this is almost the 20th anniversary of that cache too.
Sadly, two other caches hidden on the islands in the same week were (unnecessarily) archived in recent years and we will toast their memory: Hell Bay https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC1B27 and Harry's Wall https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC1B27
